53rd annual Boston Boat Show February 14-22, 2009. Over 350 exhibits, power, sailboats and luxury yachts up to 50 feet. Things to do in Boston, lodging and restaurants.

New England Boat Show

Also known as the Boston Boat Show, this show is a month later this year than in 2008. Don't forget to mark your calendars for February 14th until February 22nd, 2009. Showcased in the new Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, this show promises to be even bigger and better than last year with over 350 exhibitors and 1000 power and sailboats of all sizes and models.

Show Times:

  • Saturday, February 14 ~ 10:00am - 9:00pm
  • Sunday, February 15~ 11:00am - 7:00pm
  • Monday, February 16 ~ Friday, February 20 - Noon - 9:00pm
  • Saturday, February 21 ~ 10:00am - 9:00pm
  • Sunday, February 22 ~ 11:00am - 6:00pm

Ticket Prices:

  • Adults and children over 12 ~ $13.00
  • Children 6 ~ 12 ~ $7.00
  • Children under 6 are free

Restaurants in Boston:

  • Probably the most popular cuisine in Boston is the succulent seafood and chowder, that and Boston Baked Beans!
  • Rated #1 by Trip Advisor, the Atlantic Fish Co., 761 Boylston St, is famous for it's seafood, (617-267-4000).
  • La Famiglia Giorgio's, 112 Salem St., is a Kid-Friendly Italian restaurant with reasonable prices, (617-367-6711)
  • Faneuil Hall Marketplace, between North Congress and State Street. has every conceivable food kiosk and vendor you could imagine. It's a foodie's dream come true. Wear good walking shoes, there's a lot to see and eat.
  • Take a stroll through authentic Chinatown where you can eat all day long and not break the bank.

Boston Hotels:

  • The Westin Boston Waterfront, 793 rooms, adjacent to the convention center (617-532-4600). Restaurant, wi-fi, indoor pool, whirlpool/hot tub. Kid-Friendly and pets are allowed. Special show prices start at $159.00 per night. Valet and self-parking can be pricey.
  • Seaport Hotel, World Trade Center Boston, 426 rooms (877-732-7678). Full service health club, indoor pool, wi-fi, restaurant, bakery and bar, specializing in Allergy-Friendly rooms. This is a Kid-Friendly and Pet-Friendly hotel. Prices start at $169.00 per night. Overnight parking runs from $29.00-$39.00.

Parking: The parking lot is huge and can be quite a walk just to get into the convention center. Dress for winter, it can be a bitterly cold walk. As would be expected, parking is also expensive. At $20.00 for valet parking (via Summer Street) and $10.00 to self-park (south parking lot), it would be a good idea to car pool. Bring cash. It is not uncommon for the price to change on the weekends. Traffic can be bumper-to-bumper depending on the time of day. Plan accordingly.
