Do you only have a weekend to spend in the Boston area? If so, be sure these Boston tourist attractions are on your itinerary.

The Boston area is rich in history and culture, and with a vast array of activities to select from, visitors with just a few days in the Baystate may find themselves wondering what activities to put on their must-see list.

These three activities will give visitors a taste of Boston and New England culture, while keeping all members of the family entertained.

Take a Boston Duck Boat Tour

No visit to the Boston area would be complete without a ride on a duck boat. These amphibious vehicles will take visitors past dozens of Boston landmarks on land and sea.

Each Boston Duck Tour features a guide – aptly named a “conDUCKtor,” who provides information on Boston's must-see locations, New England and Boston history, along with culture and fun facts about the city. These 80-minute tours are designed to appeal to every member of the family and the transition from land to water and back is sure to appeal to children and adults alike.

The duck tours depart from two locations in Boston: the Museum of Science and the Prudential Center. Tickets range from $5 for children under the age of three, $19 for kids ages three to eleven, $25 for students, seniors and military, and general admission for adults is $29. Special group discounts are available and the Boston Duck Tours also offer chartered tours for groups of 32 people.

Visit the Museum of Science

Boston’s Museum of Science is sure to appeal to every member of the family. Whether a visitor is an adult, a child or a senior, the Museum of Science is sure to please. The museum features dozens of displays and exhibits which are perpetually updated and rotated to ensure a new experience on every visit.

Visitors can also check out the Mugar Omni Theatre, where they can view films on the five-story-tall IMAX dome screen. New shows are continually showing at the theatre.

Admission prices vary, as visitors can select from different packages depending on how many exhibit halls they’d like to visit. For adults, ticket prices start at $16 per child, $19 per adult and $17 per senior age 60 and over. For more information, visit the Museum of Science website.

Visit Plimoth Plantation

Plimoth Plantation is the third must-see site in the Boston area. Plantation staff will transport visitors back in time to the 1600s, when the Colonial English men and women came to the “new world” to live alongside the Native Wampanoag tribe of New England. Visitors to Plimoth Plantation will have an opportunity to tour a living museum, where they can see, hear, smell and feel the experiences of 17th century New England. Visitors can check out the English settlement as it was in the months following the arrival of the Mayflower. Visitors can also make their way to the waterfront to visit the Mayflower II.

Plimoth Plantation is open from mid-March through late-November of every year. Most of the exhibits are open from 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. For additional information on Plimoth Plantation, visit the Plimoth Plantation website.
